"The Great Leap Forward" is the thirteenth episode of season four of the USA Network television series The 4400. It is the forty-second episode of the series overall and is the season four finale as well as the series finale of the program. Directed by executive producer Scott Peters, it first aired on September 16th, 2007. In this episode, Danny Farrell possesses the ability to spread Promicin through human contact, but is horrified when his power results in the deaths of hundreds of people, including his own mother. Shawn offers to help Danny deal with the consequences of his power and NTAC finds themselves in the unenviable position of relying upon the residents of Promise City for help.
