"Unless someone is willing to ask the hard questions, no one will ever know. The powers-that-be aren't telling the whole story and you and I both know that if left to their own devices, they never will."

28 Days Later[]

Selena, late of London, England, now resides at the Bergen refugee camp in Norway. While sitting in her tent, her reverie is interrupted by Clint Harris, who is an American war correspondent. He wants to hire Selena as a guide to help him sneak him past the quarantine walls into infected territory in London. Selena is resistant at first and tells Clint to "piss off". However, after recalling her last happy moments with a lover prior to her world collapsing, she decides to go forward with Clint's request.

She meets Clint at his helicopter, where he meets the rest of his team, which consists of Acorn, Derrick, Hirsch and Trina. As they fly over the Shetland Islands, a military aircraft opens fire upon them for violating restricted airspace. They are forced to land some nine miles outside of Sumburgh. Trina tries to flag down some locals for assistance, but Selena notes that they are infected. Hirsch gets too close to one of them, but Selena pushes him out of the way and hacks at them with her machete. A second one jumps on Hirsch, but Selena dispatches this one as well. Clint asks her if she is okay. Selena tells him that they were shot at because the infection has spread to the island. "What's your plan now?", she asks while standing over two bloody corpses.
