The 26th century is a one-hundred year period of time that spans the years 2500-2599. As this is a future time era, all information relating to the 26th century is speculative and/or fictional.
The 26th century is the main time period of the short-lived Firefly television series, as well as its 2005 feature film spin-off, Serenity. The primary setting of this era is colloquially referred to as The 'Verse, and is governed by an authoritative organization called the Alliance. A great Civil War took place in The 'Verse, the outcome of which left many veterans living on the fringe elements of society including Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds and the crew of his ship, Serenity.

The 2019 feature film Alita: Battle Angel takes place in the 26th century. In the film's narrative, the 26th century is a dystopic future, where the world has fallen into tremendous ruin. A cyborg character named Alita awakens on a scrap heap with no memory of who she is, and is taken in by Doctor Ido, who provides her with a new form. Those whom Alita comes into contact with come to learn that she is more than what she appears to be, and has an extraordinary past. As she navigates her new life, she battles other machines who are empowered with skills.
