The Impala is an automobile that plays a large role on the CW Network television series Supernatural. It could be argued that in some ways it serves as a supporting character on the series. The car is seen in nearly every episode of the show, beginning with the pilot episode.
Description[]
This model of Chevrolet Impala was released in 1967 and is painted black. It was purchased by John Winchester, who had reservations at first, but was encouraged to buy it by his future time-traveling son, Dean Winchester. [1]
Years later, after John had died, the car was passed down to Dean. Dean and his younger brother Sam Winchester, drove the Impala all across the country in their ongoing crusade to ride the world of supernatural evil. In most cases, Dean is driving the car. He never lets Sam drive, though there have been circumstances when Sam was required to drive when Dean was either unable or unavailable. The Impala has seen its fair share of adventure over the years and bears the scars to prove it. It has been banged up, and outright devastated more times than one can count, but Dean always manages to peace the car back together. He always comes up short with fixing that damn headlight though.
Notes & Trivia[]
- Winchester Impala redirects to this page.
- Dean affectionately refers to the car as "Baby".
- The trunk of the '67 Impala is filled with various tools and instruments that Sam and Dean require for their journeys, including firearms, ammunition, rock salt, and other necessities.
